In recognition of Dr Arra’s talk, the Southampton Rotary Club will be making a donation to the Rotary Foundation END POLIO NOW Campaign to assist in Rotary’s ongoing vaccination effort to rid the world of polio.

Dr. Arra joined the Grey Bruce Health Unit in 2015 during postgraduate training and following that working as a Physician Consultant, and the Medical Officer of Health for the Grey Bruce Health Unit.
 
As well as his medical degree, Dr. Arra completed postgraduate training in the speciality of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, and holds a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada, the American Board of Preventive medicine, and a Master's in Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
 
He has worked on a variety of public health initiatives including - road safety, nuclear Emergency Response Planning, health effects of wind farms, resource prioritization, and climate change mitigation. He has served on multiple postgraduate committees that are leading and shaping Canadian Public Health research and education.
 
Dr. Arra strongly believes that knowledge through research empowers both the individual and the community.
