ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARDS – Seminar for Tomorrow’s Leaders
Southampton Rotary invites High School Students to attend this virtual life changing seminar on May 14th and 15th 2021 and Rotary will cover the cost for up to 6 students……So, it’s FREE!!!
What is the RYLA Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders?
RYLA - Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders is a weekend seminar usually held at Western University in London, Ontario. This year, however, it will be virtual! Our seminar is devoted to enhancing and expanding your leadership skills and abilities to be the next generation of leaders in communities.
RYLA aims to:
- Demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth;
- Provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders;
- Encourage leadership of youth by youth;
- Recognise publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities
Every RYLA program covers the following core topics
o Fundamentals of leadership
o Ethics of positive leadership
o Importance of communication skills in effective leadership
o Problem-solving and conflict management
o Rotary's purpose and service to the community
o Building self-confidence and self-esteem
o Elements of community and global citizenship

This year's event will be held on Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15, 2021, via Zoom. The agenda is still being finalized, but the seminar will run from approximately 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, and from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday. While this year's virtual experience will certainly be different from our in-person conferences, we know it'll be no less interesting, fun, and engaging!
Lifelong Friendships
Each year, students undoubtedly create lifelong friends. You will be introduced to other Rotary youth programs, including Interact, Rotaract, and Rotary Youth Exchange, and learn how you can stay involved with Rotary in your community after the seminar and expand your horizons both inside and outside the organization!
